Die leitf\u00e4hige Folie bildet verschiedene Lagen einer mehrseitigen Schaltung. Die unterschiedlichen Innenlagen werden paarweise (auf einem Kern) verarbeitet und dann mittels Prepreg als Isolierschicht miteinander verpresst. Die Lagen werden so angeordnet, dass beide Seiten der Leiterplatte zur Bauteilmontage genutzt werden k\u00f6nnen, w\u00e4hrend zus\u00e4tzliche Leitungsbahnen und elektrische Verbindungen im Inneren der Platine verlaufen. In der Praxis werden in gro\u00dfen Backplanes mehrere Router\/Switches und andere Ger\u00e4te \u00fcber Steckpl\u00e4tze montiert, um Daten\u00fcbertragungspfade zwischen den Ger\u00e4ten zu schaffen.<\/p>\n<p>Backplanes oder &#8222;Backpanels&#8220; haben typischerweise mehr Lagen als Standard-Leiterplatten, oft 20 bis 40 Lagen oder mehr. Sie sind gro\u00df und dick, mit Reihen von Press-fit-L\u00f6chern f\u00fcr Hochgeschwindigkeitsstecker. Die Stecker erm\u00f6glichen das einfache Einstecken und Austauschen von Tochterkarten oder Line-Cards. Backplanes k\u00f6nnen passiv oder aktiv sein, wobei passive Varianten keine Onboard-Verarbeitung und Speicherbausteine enthalten. In einigen F\u00e4llen k\u00f6nnen Line-Cards von beiden Seiten eingesteckt werden, in diesem Fall werden die Boards als Midplanes bezeichnet.    <\/p>\n<p>Die Anforderungen an Backplanes erfordern extrem hohe Geschwindigkeiten (&gt;100 GHz). Die Zuverl\u00e4ssigkeit der Daten\u00fcbertragung ist entscheidend, um 0% Paketverlust zu gew\u00e4hrleisten. Die Signalintegrit\u00e4t (SI) wird daher in Backplane-Systemen besonders kritisch.  <\/p>\n<p>Die Basismaterialien f\u00fcr Backplanes weisen \u00fcblicherweise sehr geringe Verluste auf und k\u00f6nnen auch Glas mit niedrigem Dk-Wert und HVLP-Kupferfolien verwenden. Auch die Weiterverarbeitung der Leiterplatte durch Planarisierung, Schleifen und \u00c4tzprozesse darf nicht dazu f\u00fchren, dass die umfassende Beschichtung unzureichend wird, wenn diese Prozesse die Dicke des Kupfermaterials reduzieren.<\/p><p>Klasse III Der Klasse-III-Standard \u00e4hnelt dem Klasse-II-Standard, mit der Ausnahme, dass die Mindestdicke der umfassenden Beschichtung f\u00fcr Durchgangsl\u00f6cher, Blinddurchkontaktierungen und vergrabene Durchkontaktierungen mit mehr als 2 Lagen nicht unter 12 \u03bcm [472 \u03bcin] liegen darf. Vergrabene Durchkontaktierungskerne m\u00fcssen eine Mindestdicke von 7 \u03bcm [276 \u03bcin] aufweisen, und sowohl blinde als auch vergrabene Mikrodurchkontaktierungen k\u00f6nnen eine minimale Umfassungsdicke von 6 \u03bcm [236 \u03bcin] haben.<\/p><p>Mit der umfassenden Kupferabscheidung von Leiterplatten sind viele Herausforderungen verbunden.
